2020 Ford F-150
Another year, another Ford F-150 model. This venerable brand has had a very long winning streak with their pickup truck, often setting benchmarks and starting new trends. Aluminum body, lowest starting price, luxurious upper trims, unparalleled power. We’re always wondering what Ford will cook up next. We’ll introduce you to the 2020 model year in this article and give you a taste of what Ford has been up to lately.
What’s New for 2020?
The 2018 refresh is still pretty, uh, fresh, so there’s no earth-shattering updates for 2020. The biggest news is that the goodies people love on the upper trims are trickling down into the lower trims, increasing their availability and affordability. For example, the Power Stroke turbo-diesel V6, once an upper-trim exclusive, is now available on the XLT trim level. Meanwhile, F-150 Lariats now come standard with the Co-Pilot360, a suite of active safety features.
And, of course, if you just want a truck with killer style, there are new color options for you. Try stealth mode with the optional Black Appearance package on the XLT and Lariat trim levels. Or dress your F-150 XL pickup up its sporty best with the SXT Sport Appearance package. Finally, there are three color options debuting in 2020: Iconic Silver, Rapid Red Tinted Clearcoat, and Star White Metallic Tri-Coat.
Why Buy a 2020 Ford F-150?
All in all, not a whole lot has changed over the previous model year. The F-150 remains a solid pickup truck for the money. The reasons to buy the 2020 are much the same as the reasons to buy a 2019 or 2018. But buying new means getting the Ford warranty: a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty and 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
There’s also that low price. Where else can you get a full-size, fresh-off-the-lot pickup truck for only $28,495? You can’t. That’s best-of-class pricing. For that price, you get a dependable work truck with the grunt and grit you need without all the frills. But if you’re willing to drop some money, the F-150 can be a luxurious dreamboat. Just take a look at the Platinum or Limited trim levels. When you can stop your tongue from lolling, ask for a test drive. Then again, most drivers find the Lariat has that right mix of great features with a reasonable price tag. This mid-tier trim level is the most popular.
There’s no better full-size pickup than a Ford F-150. With an engine that’s good for 440 pound-feet of torque and capable of towing a class-leading 13,200 pounds, you know this Ford can handle any job you throw at it. If you’re looking for a family-friendly truck that does everything a truck should do while also treating you right, you really can’t do better than a Ford.
