Used 2014 Ford Escape
The Ford Escape may be considered a pumped-up version of the Ford Focus as they share the same platform. It is a heavier vehicle than its smaller sibling but displays agility on the road which translates to a controlled and comfortable ride.
The Used 2014 Ford Escape comes in three trim levels: S, SE and Titanium. There is also a choice of three four-cylinder engines with six-speed automatic transmission. The engines are the base 168-horsepower 2.5-liter, the turbocharged 178-horsepower 1.6-liter, and the most powerful is the 240-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
integrated blind-spot mirror which gives the driver full field of view while driving and a rear-view camera which is of course extremely useful when backing into tight parking spots especially if combined with the optional rear parking sensors. The SE trim level upgrades the 17-inch tires from steel to alloy wheels and some privacy tinted class and comfort via an eight-way power adjustable driver seat with power lumbar support and reclining rear seats. For more comfort the optional Leather Comfort package adds leather upholstery and heated front seats. If you choose to go all the way to the top of the line, the Titanium moves the tires up to 18-inch wheels or optional 19-inch alloy wheels and several other bells and whistles, notably the convenient remote start, keyless ignition/entry, and the hands-free power liftgate.
With the rear seats folded up, there are 34.3 cubic feet of storage space; folding down the rear seats increases that space to 68.1 cubic feet for nearly double the storage capacity. In government crash tests performed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Escape earned an overall rating of four stars (out of a possible five), with four stars for total frontal-impact crash protection and five stars for total side-impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Escape a top score of “Good” in its frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength tests.
The Titanium Trim with the Leather Comfort package can be considered the special Model for this year’s production. Opting for this level of options truly puts the driver in a top of the line vehicle worthy of the increased pricing. It comes with push-button start. Just have the key fob in your pocket, press the brake pedal and then the start button. The available power panoramic Vista roof lets in additional light and ventilation.
